The Brooksville Mural Society, Inc. was formed March 28, 2001. The general purpose for the corporation was to "Enhance the cultural and educational development of the residents of the city of Brooksville and Hernando County through the creation, development and promotion of murals and other public artworks of regional and historical significance."
The corporation later disbanded and the control of the murals and a small fund was transferred to the Hernando County Arts Council, which now owns the rights to the images.
As of 2017, we have six murals
The Saturday Stroll - 2001
The Fire - 2002
The Police - 2002
The Physicians - 2003
The Fifties Drug Store- 2004
The Livery Stable - 2008
