Arts In Education Grant Guidelines

The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is accepting applications for the newly offered Arts in Education Grants for K-12 classrooms. All grant applications must align with the Arts in Education program mission: to encourage, promote, support, and showcase the creative arts to the benefit of students in grades K through 12 in Hernando County. Beginning this year, teachers may apply for either Fall or Spring projects.


Any certified visual or performing arts teacher may apply on behalf of a public or private school in Hernando County. Schools are limited to one visual and one performing arts application per year.


The maximum grant request is $500 per application


Grant funds may be used to benefit the arts education for students in Hernando County. Grant funds can be used for

  • project-related equipment/ supplies

  • student admissions

  • school bus transportation

  • professional development

  • and resident artists.

Other important information:
Projects must impact students in Hernando County.

Grant funds must be used for approved project expenses only.

Grant funds cannot pay for advertising, operating expenses, capital improvements, infrastructure, one on one entertainment, political/religious advocacy, food or beverages.

No expenditures can be reimbursed without documentation (receipt or invoice) and must be submitted no later than the published date for Fall events and the published date for Spring events.

Grant funds will be dispersed only after the completion of the project and with submission of final report and required documentation.
All printed materials associated without the grant must include Hernando County Fine Arts Council logo with the phrase:
Sponsored in part by the Hernando Arts Council.

Award amounts will be based upon available funds. All decisions are final.
