HAPPY HOLIDAYS! This holiday season, spread some extra joy by shopping small and supporting the talented local artists and makers right here in Hernando County! There are tons of art markets and holiday concerts this month — as well as several upcoming auditions for productions opening in 2026!

Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk

Tomorrow (Saturday, December 6) is the last Front Porch Art Walk of the year! Join us on Shoal Line Blvd. from 10 AM - 2 PM to enjoy the works of 40+ artists and shop local this holiday season! Head to Brian’s Place to hear Suzuki Strings playing at 10:15 AM, followed by Chris Vincent at 11 AM. Silver Dolphin Restaurant will have live music by Robert Webb!

Playwright’s Workshop at Stage West

Do you have a script you have been working on? This workshop meets on the first and third Saturday of each month at 10 AM. All are welcome – both writers and actors who want to explore cold reading of new materials.

Sunday Art Markets at Ever After Gallery

Ever After Gallery will host a Pop-Up Art Market from 10 AM - 2 PM every Sunday until Christmas! Explore art, tie-dyed goods, handcrafted gifts, and treats from our amazing artists.

A Dickens Christmas Carol

Head to the Carol & Frank Morsani Center for the Arts at Live Oak Theatre to see their newest production! Tickets are $25 for adults, and $10 for children 13 and under.

Krampus Art & Oddities Market at BSBC

Check out Broad Street Brewing Company’s monthly night market for some amazing vendors, artisans, bakers, and more! Food truck on site, live music, along with locally brewed beer on tap to sip and shop the night away!

Weeki Wachee Winds Holiday Concert

This event is free and family-friendly, so please bring your kids to enjoy some merrymaking music! Admission is free, though donations are appreciated.

Hernando Symphony Orchestra Concert

December Market at Market 48

Head to a special December Market at Marker 48 for fantastic local shopping — and enjoy live painting by the artists at Ever After Gallery!
The event will have several free activities, including musical bingo 12 - 2:30 PM and live music by Shawn Scheller from 2:30 - 6:30 PM. There will also be a holiday art class with Lynne Simone with purchase of a ticket (see below).

Art & Ales Auction

Now’s your chance to own an original piece created live during Art & Ales at Tidal Brewing Company by local artists Johan Casadiego, James Oleson, Nancy Barry, and Giuseppe Solito!

50% of proceeds go directly to the artists, and 50% will be donated back to the Hernando County Fine Arts Council!

Shadow Chasers Plein Air Artist Meetups

Every Wednesday, weather permitting, the Shadow Chasers meet at various locations to create en plein air. For the next few weeks, the weekly meetups will be at the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens!

Get your applications in for the 41st Annual Art in the Park! Deadline to apply is January 18.

Artists of all mediums are invited to join us underneath the oak trees and exhibit on March 14 - 15! Enjoy a crowd of 6,000+ art lovers, two full days of art exhibition & live entertainment, $6,500 in cash prizes, and so much more!

Find Julie’s artwork at the Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk on the first Saturday of each month!

What have we been up to?

Art & Ales was a huge success!

We were so happy with the turnout for the inaugural Art & Ales live painting competition! So many attendees loved our “Corr Blimey!” collaboration beer and participated in our mixed-media community art project.

Local artists, James Oleson, Nancy Barry, Johan Casadiego, and Giuseppe Solito, painted right on site for SIX HOURS STRAIGHT, creating masterpieces inspired by beers brewed by Tidal Brewing Company.

Congratulations to Giuseppe for bringing home both the Judge's Choice & People's Choice prizes with his painting, inspired by the “Dirty Rotten Scoundrel” red lager!

Don’t forget — the Hernando County Fine Arts Council will receive a portion of merch sales & sales of the collab “Corr Blimey!” ale! So be sure to snag a pint the next time you are at Tidal.

We will also receive 50% of auction sales! That’s right — you can purchase the one-of-a-kind artworks that were painted at this event! Check out the auction at this link.
