Show Support for the Arts Council!

Join us this Thursday, May 15 from 4 - 8 PM for our quarterly Panera Bread Fundraiser!

We will be presenting local artist, Kaitlyn Stires, with a $1,000 award to recognize her recent accomplishment - winning Best in Show in the Congressional Art Competition!

Afterwards, please stay to enjoy dinner or a sweet treat and a portion of your sale will be donated back to the Arts Council. Proceeds are used to provide free art activities for kids at events like Art in the Park, and support our two grant programs!

Summer Art Workshops for Kids

The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is partnering with the Hernando County Public Library to offer eight FREE art classes for kids this July at all four branches of the library!

Advanced registration is required and will open in June. You can sign up at this link. The Library also hosts a reading program, other art workshops, and fun, free activities all summer long!

On September 8, 2022, thank God, we flew to Florida, USA! I literally fell in love with Florida - palm trees, ocean, blue sky, manatees, turtles! I began to paint acrylic paintings in a marine theme. I am grateful to God for my talent and the opportunity to realize myself through the Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk.”

What have we been up to?

Congressional Art Competition

The Hernando County Fine Arts Council was proud to participate in the District 12 Congressional Art Competition held at the Culinary Fine Arts at Land O’Lakes High School on April 22.

Kaitlyn Stires, a 12th grade homeschooled student, won Best of Show for her mixed media piece Innocence. Kaitlyn won two airline tickets to Washington, DC where her art will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the US Capitol Building for the next year.

Judges included Arts Council Member Joan LoBianco from Hernando County and Bonnie Anderson and Leah Tinsley from Citrus County. The Nature Coast Art League donated a free one-year membership from their organization, and the Hernando County Fine Arts Council will award a $1,000 scholarship to assist with travel expenses at the Panera Bread Fundraiser on May 15.
