Happy New Year!

As we enter a new year, we would like to thank the artists and art enthusiasts who have contributed to our thriving arts community! With your help, we supported ten local nonprofits with Community Arts Grants and five schools with Arts in Education Grants. We partnered on two rounds of Brooksville Main Street’s Mobile Mural Program and four art exhibits at Gallery 201. We created two new partnerships with the development of the Front Porch Art Walk and the Mermaid Tale Trail with the Tourism Development Council - helping us meet our mission to promote the arts across Hernando County!

We’d love to do it all again in 2024! Help us keep our Art Event Calendar up to date by adding local arts events, and check out our Art Opportunity page for several open calls to artists! You can show even more support to the Arts Council by buying a 2024 Hernando Arts Calendar, attending one of our monthly Front Porch Art Walks, or saving the date for Art in the Park (March 9 & 10)! 2024 Hernando Arts Calendar

Introducing the Hernando Arts Calendar! Enjoy monthly artist spotlights and fun facts about our public art programs, events, partnerships, and grant programs. Purchase on our website, or in person this Saturday at the Front Porch Art Walk or on Tuesdays at the Arts Council Office.

Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk

On January 6, come celebrate the first anniversary of the Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk and the unveiling of Hernando Beach’s newest public art installation - street banners that feature local artwork installed along Shoal Line Blvd!

From 10 AM - 2 PM, enjoy the Art Walk - featuring unique artworks from 25+ local artists, including Featured Artist, Jana Withers! Afterward, at 3:30 PM, there will be a ceremony at the Silver Dolphin Restaurant to recognize the artists who created the new pole banners in Hernando Beach!

When? Saturday, January 6
Where? 3400 - 4036 Shoal Line Blvd.

FEATURED ARTIST

Jana Withers is a local conservationist, artist, educator, and huge contributor to the Hernando County arts scene!

"My goal as an Artist is to "Create Art for the Love of Art" and seek ways to make the "Ordinary, Extraordinary!" How I view life and how it should be portrayed creatively changes every day. I do believe it is more important now than ever before to create art that entertains. Capturing a moment in time that makes someone smile or appreciate the beauty around them, is what I hope to achieve as an Artist." - Jana Withers
