Artists! Before your holiday season gets too hectic, be sure to get your applications in for Art in the Park and the next round of Mobile Murals!

CALLS FOR ARTISTS

Mobile Mural Program

Brooksville Main Street invites artists to apply for the 8th round of their Mobile Mural program! The theme is Snap & Soar : Interactive Murals for Joyful Moments. Create interactive works of art (such as mystical wings or playful backdrops) that will immerse viewers and encourage them to pose for photos. The deadline to apply is December 1.

December Front Porch Art Walk

Exhibitor spots at the Front Porch Art Walk are free for selected artists with pre-registration! Artists who are interested in exhibiting at the December 2 event can register here. The deadline to register is November 25th.

Broad Street Brewing Co. Art Show

Broad Street Brewing Co. is seeking artists for an art show at their grand opening! All mediums are welcome, but must be ready to hang. The deadline to apply is November 30.

Interested artists, email photos of your artwork, the size of the piece, along with your contact information to beer@broadstreetbeer.com.

Exhibit at Art in the Park

The Arts Council invites artists to exhibit at the 39th Annual Art in the Park on March 9 & 10! This is Hernando County’s largest art show, offering $6,500 in prize money. The exhibitor fee is $250 for fine artists and $200 for crafters. The deadline to apply is January 10.

Dreamscapes Mobile Mural Auction

Don't forget that Brooksville Main Street is auctioning off 20 unique "Dreamscape" themed murals. These murals are a super affordable way to beautify a space in or out of the home (yes - they are weatherproofed for outdoor display!)

2nd Anniversary Party at XLNT Smoke

Art in the Outdoors at Chinsegut Conservation Center

Create your own paintbrushes out of natural materials found at Chinsegut and then paint a work of art.

When: Wednesday, November 29th from 10 AM - 12 PM

Meeting of the Minds Opening Reception

Thank you to all those who came out for the opening reception of the Meeting of the Minds exhibit at Gallery 201! We hope you enjoyed the collection of artwork, music, and performing arts! We are especially proud that council member, Ron Coles, has some of his glass art on display (seen in the first two pictures). This type of glassblowing is often done with a partner, so it is perfect to feature in this exhibit about collaboration! 🤝

The exhibit will be open until January. Gallery 201 is located inside of Brooksville City Hall, and is open Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM.

The Arts Council has grown again, with the addition of three, new dynamic members. Funny enough - all three of our new members have November birthdays! Join us in both welcoming Marla Sticka, Ron Coles, and John David Hanna, and wishing them a happy birthday!
