It’s grant season! Be sure to tell your favorite nonprofits about our Community Art Grant program - which offers up to $1,000 for art events or public art projects.

Front Porch Art Walk

TODAY! Check out the Front Porch Art Walk, featuring 20 local artists exhibiting their unique artwork in Hernando Beach.

Make a day of it and check out all of the mermaid statues along the Mermaid Tale Trail, or enjoy a nice, air-conditioned brunch at one of our hosting restaurants, Brians Place or the Silver Dolphin Restaurant, with a beautiful view of the canals!

Community Arts Grant

The Arts Council is now accepting applications for our Community Arts Grant program! We are proud to offer eligible nonprofits and civic organizations up to $1,000 in grant funding to promote the arts in Hernando County.

Eligible projects include: Art instruction (workshops or classes), Art-focused events (art festivals, exhibits, etc.), and Public art installations (including sculptures or murals)

What has the Arts Council been up to since the last newsletter?

I - Identity Exhibit

The opening reception of the "I" - Identity Exhibit took place on July 14, and was quite the spectacle! It featured an amazing collection of "self-expression" and identity-themed artwork, as well as an hour of performing arts spotlighting local poets and flow arts. Thank you to all of the amazing artists who came from all around Florida to exhibit, and a HUGE thank you to Gallery Coordinator, Pedram Moghaddam, for all he does to make these art events a success.

The “I” - Identity Exhibit will remain open until September 29! The gallery is open daily on Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM, and is located in Brooksville City Hall at 201 Howell Ave. in Brooksville.

Proceeds from your donations benefit our public art programs and two grant programs - the Arts in Education grant for teachers and the Community Art Grant for local nonprofits. Help us meet our mission to support all the arts in Hernando County!
