The Arts Council has been busy! We are currently accepting applications for two grant programs. We have a full Event Calendar and our Art Opportunity page is packed with open calls for artists.

Plus, applications for Art in the Park are now open!

The Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk returns on September 7!

Get a first look at what our artists have been working on this summer and browse the artwork of 30+ local artists, including featured artist Stacy Muia, this Saturday, September 7 at the Hernando Beach Front Porch Art Walk!

When? Saturday, 9/7 + every 1st Saturday from 10 AM - 2 PM
Where? Silver Dolphin & Brian’s Place on Shoal Line Blvd. in Hernando Beach

FEATURED ARTIST

Meet Stacy Muia! Stacy is a multimedia artist who works primarily in acrylic paint creating Dive Bells from repurposed scuba tanks, paintings, and jewelry. In addition, she creates whimsical illustrations in watercolor and alcohol markers. Residing in Hernando Beach Florida, Stacy is motivated by the beauty and wildlife that surrounds her. Her artwork often includes sea creatures, mermaids, nature, and Hernando Beach’s famous “FLATS”

Grants

Arts in Education Grant

In partnership with the Hernando County Education Foundation, the Arts Council offers grants of up to $500 to art teachers and schools without art programs. The deadline is TODAY, September 4!

The Arts Council offers grants of up to $1,000 to local nonprofits for public art projects and events. On September 24, we are hosting a voluntary pre-application workshop for those who have questions about the grant program.

The inaugural Booksville Festival celebrates all the ways literature touches our lives. The Booksville Festival is seeking authors for several activities including book readings, kid’s art, short story writers, and a poetry contest.

Art Among the Olives

The Harvest Hues pop-up art show at the Olive Grove will showcase local artwork that emphasizes themes of autumn, harvest, and nature. The deadline to reserve an exhibitor spot is October 1.
