The GFWC Historic Brooksville Woman’s Club received a 2017 Community Arts Grant
to help create Brooksville’s newest mural.
The Community Arts Grant Program offers grants up to $500 each to civic or cultural organizations recognized as non-profits, or charitable groups that support art and encourage art appreciation in Hernando County.
Funding for the grant program is generated from the sale of “Florida State of the Arts” specialty license plates in Hernando County, as well as donations to the Council’s Very Important Partner program.
“Over the years, grantees have used these grants in many creative ways to educate, produce, and promote art in Hernando County,” said William "Bill" Yerrick, Council chair. “These grants are truly an investment in the community. The program helps the Council achieve its mission of encouraging, promoting and supporting all the creative arts in the county."
