Kelly Kievit

ARTIST BIO

“Creating connections between art, nature, people and place has been at the heart of my creative career. As a graphic designer and Art Director, I focused on water reuse, sustainability and environmental remediation projects around the globe. As a painter and photographer, I look to nature for inspiration.

Since returning home in 2018 and witnessing the rampant development happening across the state, I’ve been photographing Florida’s intricate and diverse ecosystems, native landscapes and remnants of Old Florida as a way to record a disappearing time and place.

I currently volunteer with Nature World Wildlife Rescue in Homosassa and am renovating an Old Florida cabin with my husband Matt.”

Kelly is a fine artist and graphic designer based out of Floral City. She earned a BFA in photography from Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in sculpture from Arizona State University. Kelly's work can be viewed here: www.kellykievit.com

Kelly recently won the Tide for a Cause Photography Contest with her photograph, “Golden Hour.”
