Event Name: Nature Coast Art League’s 1st Annual "Ed Barker's Big Brush Paint Out"

Description: On Saturday, 9/20/2025, be prepared to have fun in this one-day plein air event - open to anyone, from anywhere! Create art outdoors, with any size brush, pencil, pastel, etc., on any size paper, canvas, board, etc. The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is a proud sponsor of this event!

Registration Details: Mail entry form and check to Nature Coast Art League P.O. Box 6284, Spring Hill, FL 34611

Register Early! This event is limited to the first 40 participants. The deadline to be guaranteed a t-shirt is July 31.

Your $35 Entry Fee includes: Event T-Shirt, Goodie Bag, Entry of one artwork (framing not required), Consideration for cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & Honorable Mentions (Amounts based on number of participants), Appetizers during judging, and a Cash bar to purchase beverages.

Event Day Details:

Ed Barker's Big Brush Paint Out takes place on Saturday, September 20, 2025. (Note: In the event of Inclement weather, dates are Saturday, 10/11/25 (Rain Date, 10/18/25).

  • 7 AM - 12 PM: Check-in at the Silver Dolphin to stamp paper(s)/canvas(s) & pick up goodie bag

  • Paint anywhere in Hernando County without using photographs or cell phone images.

  • Return painting and set up on your easel before 2 PM back at the Silver Dolphin for judging.

  • 2 PM - 3 PM: Appetizers & cash bar (non-alcohol & alcohol beverages)

  • 3 PM - 4 PM: Awards
