COVID-19 concerns lead to the cancellation of the Hernando County Fine Arts Council 37th Annual Art in the Park this March

On Thursday, January 14, at the Council’s monthly meeting, members cited the County's soaring positivity rate and fears of hosting a superspreader event. It was a difficult decision to break with a long-standing tradition and to disappoint artists, vendors, and art lovers alike. Ultimately, however, Council members unanimously agreed to prioritize the health and safety of all involved over its own economic loss and voted to cancel Art in the Park as currently planned for this March.

Art in the Park Named Top 20 March Event in the Southeast Third Year in a Row

The Southeast Tourism Society is proud to announce the Hernando County Fine Arts Council’s 36th Annual Art in the Park has been named to its top 20 Festival and Events list for the month of March 2020. Jan Knowles, co-chair of Art in the Park noted, “The Arts Council is thrilled that our festival has been named in the top 20 for the third year in a row!”
