Call for Authors : Annual Short Story Contest
Organization : Arts of Royal Highlands
Description : The Arts, a promotion organization, is promoting literacy and the craft of creative writing in an annual short story contest that allows submission of short stories in two categories - teen and adult.
Local businesses will provide prizes both large and small and be recognized for their efforts. Submissions will be published online and judged by local book clubs. Awards and a multitude of prizes will be awarded on May 29 at a publicized gala dinner.
To submit : Attach a Word doc and send to Contest@ArtsOfRoyalHighlands.org. Include your name and contact information, category, and genre. All entries will be displayed, although the name can be hidden upon request.
Contest Details :
1500 - 3000 words
Two categories - teen and adult. One entry per person.
Genres are Drama, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Mystery, or Op-Ed. No pornography.
Artificial intelligence is not allowed to participate under your name but contestants are encouraged to use Grammarly or equivalent.
Judging : Judges will be recruited from book clubs around the county. Judges may participate but will automatically have their names moved to a private listing when included with their stories.
Awards : Prizes for the many winners will range from a participation certificate for everyone, a swag bag of minutia for many, dinner certificates, cash, and gift cards. The finalists will be published both on Vella and Amazon print. Links are provided for submission help to the various paying venues post-contest.
