Call for Student Artists : Congressional Art Competition

Project Name: 43rd Annual Congressional Art Competition for High School Students in the 12th Congressional District of Florida

Business or Organization: Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis & the Congressional Institute

General Information: The Congressional Art Competition, launched in 1982, is coordinated by Members of Congress and is an annual high school art competition and exhibition representing congressional districts across the nation. The artwork will be on display at a local awards reception on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5 – 7 PM at Land O’ Lakes High School (20325 Gator Lane, Land O’ Lakes).

The Best of Show artwork travels to Washington, D.C. to be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol Building’s Cannon Tunnel with other congressional district winners.

Student Submission Details:

  • Students in Hernando County from public, private, charter, and home schools are welcome to exhibit.

  • Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 11th.

  • All Hernando County entries must be delivered to :

Teacher Submission Details:

  • Entries are limited to one per student, each art teacher may enter up to five works.

  • The Student Information & Release Form must be completed and attached to the back of each entry.

  • Artworks must be transported in a secure portfolio and the portfolio labeled with the school’s name and the words “Congressional Art Competition”.

  • An Inventory Sheet and copy of each Release Form must be completed and forwarded in the portfolio with the student entries.

***The Office of Congressman Bilirakis will handle each student’s artwork in a professional manner, but assume no responsibility in case of loss, damage, theft, etc.***
