Hernando Youth Orchestra is looking for new members (young musicians aged 6 to 18), mentors, and instrument donations.
Call to Student Artists: Congressional Art Competition
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC, where the winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.

What is a Florida native?
Anything Florida will be well suited for this exhibit. Just make it native! Artwork ideas can be anything from native plants, animal species, and specific peoples to more creative submissions like paintings that serve as tributes to the Native land we live on. You may have criteria that differs from the described and you can iterate on what it means to be a Floridian in the modern age, living in the present while remembering our past and walking into the future.
